In 1989, Jimi Scott brought the (540) McTwist to the sport of snowboarding, opening doors for future generations. He also was the 1993 ISF world champion, won the U.S. Open twice and was an X-Games Gold medalist in half-pipe. With a career as a professional skater being his promotional vehicle towards becoming a professional snowboarder, and professional free surfer Jimi had what it took to make it in the action sports industry as a top athlete. It was only natural for Jimi to begin coaching athletes after his competition window was closed, for he wanted to give back to the sports that gave him so much.
Jimi coached such athletes as, Olympic gold medallist, Shawn White, Olympic silver medallist, Daniel Frank, X-Games medallist, Steve Fisher, and innovative riders, Shannon Dunn, Tara Dakides and Trevor Andrews; it was only the beginning of Jimi Scott’s career of developing Olympic level athletes in action sports.
